International Youth Human Rights Movement (YHRM) (www.yhrm.org/eng) is looking for a long-term internship volunteers from Germany working in the Voronezh Administrative Center of YHRM, (Russia) 2010-2011. International Youth Human Rights Movement – is a community of people from different countries (at present – more than 30 states), young (by passport or by soul), for whom Human Rights and individual dignity are crucial values. We are united in a Network to support each other in defending and promoting these values, to share ideas, to arrange joint actions and to form new generation of civil activists. It’s a free-will community, in which different people, attitudes and methods are appreciated; only violence, aggression and discrimination are unacceptable.
The internship in the Administrative Center of YHRM is not only a chance to see how the international network, its members and partners are working, but also unique oppjrtunity to experience the everyday life of Russian activists. YHRM office is situated in the old listed building of the House of Human Rights http://www.hrdom.hrworld.ru. This House is inhabited by a number of regional and interregional NGOs such as “Memorial”, Confederation of Free Labor, Union of Literary men, Association “Golos”, Movement “Groza” etc. Therefore a lot of events (conferences, workshops, discussions) are taking palace here.

Period of the intership : autumn 2010 - spring 2011. Activities, which are foreseen within the internship: 1. Assistance by realization of local projects for schoolchildren and students on such topics as antiracism, human rights, peace-making etc. They can include open lectures, discussions, cinema show, street actions, festivals and others. 2. Assistance by organization and holding of seminars and training sessions; presentation of the situation какая? HR? in Germany; 3. Participation in conferences and working meetings in Russia, Ukraine and so on; 4. Assistance in Administrative Center by translation into German and English, (internet?) research and adaptation of German materials and publications, promotion of YHRM in the German-speaking area: 5. Assitance in the development of the German branch of YHRM - Youth Human Rights Movement — Berlin: i.e. up-dating of the web-page www.yhrm.de, suppotring Russian – German activities (seminars, trainings, exchanges and etc.=; 6. participation in humanitarian and cultural projects.
Requirements for volunteers: • At least, basic experience in the field of human rights, antiracism, environment protection, non-violence ???etc. ; • At least, approximate understanding of the current political and social situation in Russia with civil and human rights; • Motivation and interest to work on problemsformulated by YHRM. • Good level of Russian language. Other languages will be appreciated. • Capacity to work both independent and in a team, readiness to take the responsibility; • Willingness to live and work with people from different countries; • Computer skills (MS Office /Open Office_какая программа используется для поддержания веб-страницы? – TYPO3?); • Readiness to start cooperation with YHRM long before the actual coming to Voronezh: to fulfill some distant tasks, to help with organization of events in Germany etc.
Conditions: YHRM has no special finances to host foreign volunteers, but our team is ready to give a strong assistances in fundraising.
